August 13th, Coop Katacomes opens its doors and its backyard to Doomsday Machine for this year second edition of Rally in the Alley. A Saturday of choppers, cool vibe and loud rock and roll. ONELAND had a chat with David Battistuzzi, the organizer of the event. For Montrealers who wants to feel the vibe of this up and rising local scene, this is not to be missed.

What was the turn out of last year event?
Last year we where excited to have over 50 bikes, mostly custom entered. Also we had over 100 people for the band.

Anything different for this year edition?
This year we are much more well known and the scene in Montreal has developed a lot, I expect to see more bikes, but also reach another level of quality for many of the bikes. Also hopefully more out of town entries from the US and Ontario.

I don’t ride a bike and don’t know anyone in the Montreal motorcycle scene. Can I go?
Defenitly, this show is not just for people who already have a lot of knowledge, this is about learning and sharing, come meet some people, ask some questions and get inspired for the future. Also the bands will kick ass.

Rally in the Alley, second edition. What’s the plan?
Bike registration starts at 2, the event is open to the public as of 4. we will leave a couple hours for people to check out the bikes and mingle, then around 7 we wll be giving prizes for bikes and longest riders, as well as door prizes that anyone who shows up (bike or no) is eleible to win. After that the bands start around 730 and he crazyness starts.

What is Doomsday Machine?
Good question, Doomsday Machine is an evolving project. It started as a means to promote old school, garage bulit choppers in the city. The Rally in the Alley was our first project but since teaming up with other people like Tony who has organised a swap meet and the Raven’s Run we continue to branch out. We will be having a movie night or 2 this winter and we are already in discussions t have an chopper builders invitational, either as part of the Rally or seperatly next year.

Who are the sponsors?
We are very excited about this years sponsors: Lowbrow Customs, CMR, Le 63, and Triumph are all back this year but weve also added Biltwell Inc, Old Bike Barn, Les Loups MC, Jebs Cycle Company in Ottawa, Choppahead from Massachusetts. and Emperors Society from Gatineau.

Of course The support we recieve from ONELAND has been exceptional.
